MINERAL SPRINGS, NC – Located at 5910 Waxhaw Highway in Mineral Springs, Almost New Resale is an absolute treasure trove of new and second-hand items. Since her teenage years, owner Kati Cox has been a thrifter and is exceptionally knowledgeable about period pieces and vintage collections. She began thrifting with her sister when they both got that first taste of freedom from driving a car. They would travel around to area thrift stores and build collections. Ms. Cox had an affinity for record players, and her sister was interested in vintage clothing. With twenty years of experience, Kati has recently opened her thrift store, which has been getting rave reviews.
Kati formerly worked for a non-profit when she decided to make a career change. She opted to go with what she knew best—thrift stores. At Almost New Resale, Ms. Cox has a wide variety of unique finds in everything from furniture and clothing to antiques and home decor. In addition, she has several vendors that sell their wares at her store, including homemade parasols, painted gourds, and handmade concrete garden statues in various shapes and sizes. Almost New Resale also boasts a sizeable new item inventory, including make-up and footwear. Kati welcomes requests from her customers and enjoys being on the hunt for new and exciting items.
The storefront where Almost New Resale is located is in the same spot where Kati used to take ballet lessons as a child. Back then, Mineral Springs had a bustling downtown. However, the town has dwindled over the years, and businesses have found other avenues. Ms. Cox is part of the new up-and-coming business side of Mineral Springs, trying to rejuvenate the little town. She often partners with the other businesses in the shopping center and wants Almost New Resale to build a sense of community within Mineral Springs.
Almost New Resale has a variety of new, used, and consigned items. It is clean, well organized, and practically bursting at the seems with a sensational inventory. No matter what you’re looking for, you’re bound to find it at Almost New Resale! Ms. Cox takes furniture on consignment and buys clothing from customers outright. Almost New Resale is becoming a Saturday morning destination for savvy thrifters, including teenagers enamored with the 70s and 80s. Kati has a local vendor who hosts classes for the community on creating all-natural household cleaners with essential oils. There is also a small business coffee hour where customers can come for free coffee, discuss business opportunities, and brainstorm ideas to help each other be successful.
Kati Cox is hosting a few events coming up at Almost New Resale. On April 16, she will be hosting an Easter event with free pictures with the Easter Bunny and a free treat for each child. In addition, there will be a Winter Sale starting Tuesday, March 22, where all clothing outside the store will be one dollar. Ms. Cox is also hoping to host some vendor events and food truck nights in the future.
