The Waxhaw Lions Club Helps Us All

The Waxhaw Lions Club is comprised of local men and women whose goal is to serve the greater Waxhaw community and have fun doing it.  While most people picture the Lions doing vision screenings and sight-related charity work they also look for other ways to fill community needs.   In this instance the Lions asked the Waxhaw Library librarian, Elaina Wolfe, if they could do anything to help the library.  This resulted in the club making a donation to the library to purchase needed children’s books.  Pictured is Lion VP Ted Sheyda (left) and Lion President Mike O’Brien (right) presenting a $400 check to Librarian Elaina at the library on June 23.  If you are over 21, service-minded, and enjoy great camaraderie, email us at waxhaw.lion@gmail.com to RSVP for our 6:30 pm dinner meeting, held the first Thursday of each month at the 701 Main Restaurant in downtown Waxhaw and follow us on Facebook.
