Sun Valley Spartans 

Football: 



Jack Wilton – The senior linebacker had an outstanding game against the Warriors recently.  Wilton had 14 tackles, 7 solo and 7 assisted, an interception, a quarterback sack, triggered a forced fumble and saved an apparent touchdown through pure hustle and extra effort.  Jack had another solid performance in this week’s Piedmont game.

Sam Howell – The outstanding multiple threat QB continued to put up tremendous numbers this week in the rout over Parkwood.  Sam is selected as the Tri-W-News Player of the Week.

Gavin Blackwell – The Spartans WR has accumulated 490 yards on 19 receptions and 9 touchdowns this season.  He is averaging 25.7 yards per catch.

Cuthbertson Cavaliers 

Football: 

Davis Walker – The senior completed 16/24 passes for 222 yards.  He averaged 13.9 yards per reception, long for the night was 45 yards, had two TD’s with one for a two point conversion.  Walker’s overall QB rating for the game is 124.0.  He has also thrown 5 TD’s twice in a game this season.

Dylan Tierney – The senior WR had four catches for 83 yards with his longest reception for 45 yards and one TD in the win.  He averaged 20.8 yards per catch.

Honorable Mention: Jayden Jennings – The versatile senior had 33 rushing yards on 3 carries, with 3 receptions for 23 yards, kick returns for 57 yards, 13 yards on punt returns for a total of 126 all-purpose yards.  Senior defender Alex Graffeo contributed 18 tackles on defense to lead the Cavaliers.

Marvin Ridge Mavericks

Football: 

Jake Cameron – In 5 games played not including this past weeks competition the QB has completed 71/107 passes for 786 yards.  He has a completion percentage of .664, has averaged 157.2 yards per game, has thrown 7 TD’s with a QB rating of 105.9.  He has also rushed for 131 yards.

Caleb Woodley – In 6 games the running back has 94 carries for 480 yards and 8 TD’s on the season.  He is averaging 80 yards per game and has recorded two games of 100 plus yards.  His longest run from scrimmage is 33 yards.

Weddington Warriors 

Football: 

Will Shipley – The versatile sophomore RB rushed for 146 yards on 10 carries and one touchdown.  Shipley also had four receptions for 61 yards including a TD against Sun Valley.  He was named Week 6 Player of the Week in Union County High School Football.

Parkwood Rebels

Football: 

Sametrius Drakeford – The Rebels reliable running back has rushed for 450 yards on 86 rushing attempts with 3 touchdowns this season to date.
