WAXHAW, NC – Weddington is on the hunt for their third consecutive football state title, with a final regular season record of 6-0. The Warriors have won 32 consecutive games, losing last to Charlotte Catholic in September of 2018. Weddington, ranked in the 3-seed position, will face the 6-seed Asheville Cougars on Friday, April 16, for the first round of the 2020-2021 NCHSAA 3AA Football Championships.

Weddington’s last game of the regular season, a 54-13 win against the Cuthbertson Cavaliers, secured their playoff position, avoiding a potential random position draw against the 5-1 Charlotte Catholic Cougars.



The final records for Weddington’s other conference opponents include Monroe at 5-2, Marvin Ridge at 4-2, Cuthbertson at 2-4, Parkwood at 2-5, Piedmont at 1-5, and Sun Valley at 0-6.

With football season coming to an end, the final season of the 2020-2021 school year is preparing to begin. Track and field, women’s tennis, baseball, and wrestling seasons are all set to get underway, with tryouts moving forward already.
