WAXHAW, NC – Conference play is heating up for baseball teams in the Tri-W area. An undefeated Tri-W team leads the Southern Carolina Conference, and several are following close behind. Read on for a look at the Tri-W baseball season so far, and what’s to come.

Weddington has acquired their first wins of the year, in blowout matchups against Monroe. The Warriors currently occupy fifth place in the conference, with their record of 2-4. Their wins against Monroe came by scores of 12-0 and 10-0. At fourth in the conference is the Parkwood Wolf Pack. Parkwood is 3-2 on the year, with wins against Weddington and Monroe. Parkwood’s most recent matchup ended in a 13-3 loss against Sun Valley. Third place in the conference belongs to Sun Valley by way of their most recent games against Parkwood. The Spartans came ahead in these games, with scores of 13-3 and 10-2. The Spartans look to improve their record with matchups against Weddington on Tuesday and Thursday. Marvin Ridge holds second place in the conference with a record of 4-2 as well. The Mavericks outpace third place Sun Valley by way of runs for and runs against. Marvin Ridge earned an 11-1 win, and a 4-3 loss against Piedmont this week. The Mavericks will play two games against Cuthbertson this week. At first place sits the undefeated Cuthbertson Cavaliers. Their untarnished record comes by way of wins against Weddington, Sun Valley, and Charlotte Catholic. Cuthbertson is scheduled to continue conference play against Marvin Ridge this week.
