WAXHAW, NC – With the Southern Carolina Conference track and field championship meet just weeks away, Tri-W athletes have been sharpening their skills with heated conference competition. Here is a look at how Tri-W track and field is unfolding.

As the hosts of two of the most recent conference meets, the Cuthbertson Cavaliers have made the most out of their home field advantage, taking home multiple first place finishes. Cuthbertson senior Jacob Koerner earned first place in both the men’s 100 meter and 200 meter dash, with times of 11.09 and 21.69, respectively in the school’s most recent meet. The Cuthbertson Home Meet 2 saw many more cavalier victories as well, including senior Aidan McNally in the men’s 400 meter dash, and Brandon Moore in the men’s 110 hurdles. The Cavaliers earned first place as well in the men’s 4×200 and 4×400. Cavalier senior Justin Sluiter won first place in the men’s high jump, alongside Victoria Teasley in the Women’s 100 meter dash, Alyssa Preisano in the women’s 800 meter run, Cassie Wooten in the women’s 300 meter hurdles, Kamaria Sheriff in the women’s high jump,Maya Studney in the women’s triple jump, and Ava Studney in the women’s pole vault. Cuthbertson junior Elizabeth Sawicki won first place in the women’s shot put and discus. Cuthbertson rounded off their incredible performances this week with wins in both the women’s 4×200 and 4×400.
