An exciting end of August saw Tri-W teams to multiple victories across several sports. Here is a look at some of the most important performances of the week.

Weddington



Varsity football at Weddington moves to 2-0 on the year, after a 33-19 victory over Porter Ridge on Friday. Weddington men’s soccer earned a 2-1 victory over South Meck. Women’s tennis left Nation Ford scoreless at 9-0. The men’s cross country team won first place at this week’s 2x2x2 meet at Weddington, and the women’s team earned a second place finish. Warrior volleyball shut Fort Mill out on Thursday, 3-0.

Sun Valley

The Sun Valley volleyball team earned two important wins this week. The team won Thursday’s match against North Central 3-2, and, earlier in the week, defeated Porter Ridge 3-0. Women’s tennis earned a 9-0 victory over Monroe. The varsity men’s soccer team won 4-3 in Friday’s match against Covenant Day.

Cuthbertson

The Cavaliers are 2-0 in varsity football with a 42-27 win over Metrolina Christian Academy. The women’s cross country team won this week’s 2x2x2 relay at Weddington, and the men’s team earned a second place finish. Women’s volleyball shut out Butler 3-0, and men’s soccer tied 2-2 in Thursday’s match against Forestview.

Parkwood

The Parkwood men’s cross country team won the 5K championship, this week, at the Carolinas Kickoff XC Invitational. Men’s soccer won 12-3 over Union academy following an 8-0 shutout against Metrolina Christian Academy. They are 2-0 on the year. The rebels earned a 3-0 volleyball victory on Thursday, against Chester High School.

Marvin Ridge

Mavericks football earned a shutout victory, in their first home game of the year, over Jay M. Robinson with a score of 56-0. Women’s volleyball won 3-0 over Ardrey Kell, on Thursday, following a 3-0 victory over Gaston Day earlier in the week. Women’s tennis won, at Parkwood, by a score of 9-0.
