WAXHAW, NC – The Union County Commissioners, at the September 8, 2020 meeting, approved a Resolution supporting Union County Businesses. The Resolution came following a request from the Union County Chamber. President Pat Kahle, IOM, worked with Union County staff to develop the resolution.

The Resolution identifies that “businesses in Union County create jobs for thousands of residents, pay taxes that support the infrastructure and services upon which our residents rely, and support local nonprofit organizations that assist those residents most in need” and resolves; “that the County of Union strongly supports Union County businesses, has led and will continue to lead by acting in support of Union County businesses at every reasonable opportunity, and encourages all UnionCounty residents and businesses to invest in supporting one another during this historically crucial time”.
At that same meeting, the Commissioners set aside $1 Million from the CARES Act to create a grant program to help small businesses affected by the COVID-19 Outbreak. The Union County Chamber expresses its gratitude to the Union County Board of Commissioners and County Staff for their efforts to support and rebuild local businesses.
