WAXHAW, NC – SplenDishes Kitchen is more than just a catering company; it is a complete culinary experience. Owned and operated by Chef Shonali Thomas, the eclectic business was created in 2008 as a side hustle following the release of her first book, “Shonal’s Kitchen: The Eclectic Home Chef.” She began by selling mostly to family, friends and farmers markets, but then word spread like wildfire regarding her savory spice blends and sauces. After a brief break where she got married, started a family, and moved to North Carolina, Shonali began working her small business full time.
SplenDishes Kitchen offers catering, cooking classes, meal prep, signature spices, sauce blends, mustards, chutneys, jams, and jellies. Shonali’s Little Chef’s Program is a popular after-school program in area schools where she encourages children to explore new foods and create easy to cook dishes of their own. Her gourmet kitchen items are available at several area stores, including Southern Style and Provisions of Waxhaw. Top sellers include pepper jelly, fire-roasted salsa, vodka sauce, bourbon spice, and tikka masala, which is a special recipe passed down from her grandmother with a modern spin.
SplenDishes Kitchen has a cooking channel on YouTube and has been featured as a cooking show on the Coach Lamont Show on the WB television network as well as on the Fox 46 television network. Her most recent show will air on the day after Thanksgiving. SplenDishes Kitchen is offering a fantastic Thanksgiving menu to provide customers with the ultimate meal this holiday season.
