And I appreciate that the American Legion is putting this on for the veterans.”Larry Berg is originally from Iowa but now lives in Waxhaw and Harry Watkins from Waxhaw are starting a Veteran’s Coffee Club. Watkins served in the Army’s 101st Airborne in Vietnam. “Another Vietnam Vet invited me to a veteran’s coffee club in Monroe, and I thought, why not Waxhaw?” Waxhaw doesn’t have anything like this so he and Larry decided to start one. The Veteran’s Coffee House will meet at Waxhaw’s Baptist Church (8213 Waxhaw Monroe Rd) on December 28, 2017 from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.. All Veteran’s are welcome!Jefferson St Deli provided lunch to veteran’s and guests. Chris Wriggle, owner of Jefferson St Deli, said he would be honored to serve the veterans.
