Waxhaw Board Of Commissioners Feb. 13 Regular Meeting Outcomes

WAXHAW, NC – On Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2023, the Waxhaw Board of Commissioners conducted a regularly scheduled business meeting.

The regular meeting began with recognitions from Chief Gregg Collins, who introduced and spotlighted Lieutenant Buddy Zill. Lt. Zill gave a brief overview of his work with the Neighborhood Policing Initiative.



The Board of Commissioners conducted a public hearing on the Waxhaw Comprehensive Pedestrian Plan.

Chairman Stony Rushing, of the Union County Board of County Commissioners, presented the status of Union County’s sewer infrastructure planning.

The Board of Commissioners approved the following:

  • Approved of Unification Feasibility Study – Waxhaw Volunteer Fire Department.
  • Approved Tax Refund Request.
  • Acknowledged receipt of Parks, Cultural & Recreation Board (PCR) Resignation (Ann Davis).
  • The Waxhaw Comprehensive Pedestrian Plan.

Town Manager Jeff Wells recognized Blair Israel for his excellent work with the Town of Waxhaw and on the Waxhaw Comprehensive Pedestrian Plan. He also expressed his condolences for the loss of Sonny Splawn, who recently passed away.
