Waxhaw is gearing up for its best holiday season yet, and local businesses are all getting in on the festivities.  With a wealth of options to fill your literal and figurative stockings, there’s no shortage of gift ideas and spirits to make the season merry!

Sweet T Flowers is moving to its brand new location in the Shoppes at Howard’s Mill, with a grand opening on Saturday, December 8th.  Right beside Emmet’s Social House, Sweet T’s will be having a giant tree, adorned with ornaments made by Western Union and Waxhaw Elementary students.  As tall as the building’s rafters, there will be a celebratory tree and rafter lighting, plus appetizers supplied by Emmet’s, baked goods brought in from 4thCorner Bakery, Christmas caroling, and a showcase of Sweet T’s newest boutique, offering quality handmade, upcycled and recycled gift items.

Funki Monki’s wood, holiday signs

Funki Monki offers gifts as well, featuring locally-made wreaths by Etsy shop, Lola Gets Crafting. Additionally, they’ll be selling last year’s most popular gift, their customized lazy Susans, which sell for $65 each.  Also their small, wood Christmas signs are being sold at 40% off through Christmas, making the perfect home décor accessory or hostess gift.

Tangled Knitting’s Rag Wreath

Another perfect hostess gift is from Tangles Knitting on Main, who will be selling ready-made, homemade wreaths throughout the season – either hand-knit or rag wreaths.  They also offer private and group-knitting classes throughout the year, making a perfect gift for the crafter at heart.

A new addition to the Waxhaw landscape is Queens South, a restaurant and bar, featuring American comfort food and NY-inspired pizza and specialties.  Coming off the heels of a smashing grand opening held last Saturday, Queens South has a packed calendar of events sure to bring merriment during this most festive month of the year.  Featuring live music on the 8thwith Jordan Middleton, and the 21st with Curbside Profit, their official Christmas Party will be hosted on the 15th, and headlined by local favorite, with NY ties, Vinyl Tones.  Then, bring your dogs down on the 16thto get their picture taken with Santa, with proceeds going to South Charlotte Dog Rescue, who will also have adoptable pets in attendance. Queens South will also be holding karaoke on the 11th, 18th, and 23rd, and what could be more holly and jolly than that?!

Provisions’ Chocolat Boutique chocolates

Provisions will be selling their favorite Grey Oven pies throughout the holiday season, as well as their prized soups, made in-house, from scratch and sold throughout the day, from 9am-7pm.  And if you’re looking to pick up a quick treat, they’ll be selling a selection of holiday candy corns, gummies, and ribbon candies, and specially-made chocolate Santas and toy soldiers from Chocolat Boutique.

We can’t speak of treats without mentioning crowd-pleaser Dunkin Donuts.  They’ll be baking special holiday-themed donuts throughout the season to include holiday sprinkles, drizzled red glaze, and the impressive Dear Santa donut, featuring a red- and black-glazed donut, filled with a white-powdered muchnkin in the middle to mimic Jolly Old St.Nick himself.
