WAXHAW, NC – For Ian Carfagna, owner of Waxhaw Made, wood carving has become second nature. What started with a simple box that he constructed in 2012 grew to a kitchen table he then built for his wife and has blossomed into a passion for creating unique handcrafted items that he spends his nights and weekends constructing. As Waxhaw Made, Ian crafts many products including farm tables, headboards, consoles, and cabinetry. His work is all custom ordered and built to perfection. Ian aims to make each piece in its own signature style, by varying aspects such as wood grain, knot patterns, and layout to make each piece as unique as possible.

Ian works from his shop at his house, which was constructed from wood that he milled from the land he cleared for the building. Ian’s home, which has been featured in magazines like Country Home and Modern Farmhouse Style, features much of his work, and the articles have garnered him a fair amount of business. While Waxhaw Made concentrates mostly on custom orders for large items, Ian has recently branched into including more everyday products like cutting boards and charcuterie boards, which are available to purchase at Provisions in Waxhaw.
