Community-Supported Program Aids Moms in Crisis on Mother’s Day

Though Mother’s Day is intended to be a joyous occasion for women across the country, thousands of moms will be overlooked on this special holiday because they are forced to live in shelters as a result of domestic abuse or homelessness.

To ensure moms in crisis receive the love and appreciation they deserve this Mother’s Day, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Charlotte, Gaston County and Rock Hill are hosting its Movers for Moms®collection drive. Essential items, such as toiletries and baby items, are being collected by volunteer businesses in the community and will be moved to local women’s shelters such as Safe Alliance in Charlotte, Catherine’s House in Belmont, and Safe Passage in Rock Hill.

“Safe Alliance has an ongoing need for hygiene and household products. We serve victims and families who often have to leave everything behind to seek safe haven at the Domestic Violence Shelter. These local families greatly depend on individuals and organizations in our community to donate these items. I am thrilled to be partnered with TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®and their “Movers for Moms®” initiative! The collection drive they are hosting on our behalf will allow us to provide those essential items that our clients need most so they can comfortably start their journey of healing from the trauma they’ve endured.”–Safe Alliance Volunteer Manager, Tenille Banner
