Davis Walker, Senior Quarterback, Cuthbertson Cavaliers Â
This week’s featured player is quietly having an outstanding senior season. Walker has been under the radar as the Cavaliers are off to a tough start. However, his numbers cannot be ignored and he had another solid performance in the Cavaliers first win of the season over Parkwood 38-11. This is Walker’s second time he has been selected as a Featured Player of the Week this season based upon his performance.
The 6’5″ 200 pound Walker completed 19/30 passes for 325 yards, including 5 touchdowns with a long reception of 59 yards. He averaged 17.1 yards per completion with a QB rating of 125.7 for the game.
On the season Walker ranks second only to standout Sam Howell among all quarterbacks in Union County. In five games he has completed 105/180 passes, has accumulated 1349 yards passing for a .583 completion percentage. He is averaging 269 yards per game, has 14 touchdowns, has averaged 12.8 yards per completion and has a 96.3 overall QB rating to lead the Cavaliers weekly.
His senior leadership presence and competitiveness is obvious on the field. The Cavaliers are in a good position to pick-up their second win this Friday night when they host Piedmont at home. Walker is expected to have another solid game for Cuthbertson against the Panthers.
