With a 4-2 victory over Parkwood last week, the Marvin Ridge Mavericks varsity softball team has won the Southern Carolina 3A Conference title for the first time in six years.
The tide turned for good in the final SCC game of the year behind a three-run home run by freshman outfielder Katriel Williams in the fourth inning that made the score 4-0. Parkwood was held at bay largely by the pitching performance of senior Gabby Baylog who earned the win in the circle, allowing only two runs and racking up seven strikeouts
Marvin Ridge finishes the regular season with a record of 13-3 (10-2 conference) after a 7-1 non-conference win against Bunker Hill in their last game of the regular season. Baylog earned the win again from the circle with a one-hitter game that earned the senior pitcher another 13 strikeouts.

Conference playoffs begin April 30. The first place finish has earned Marvin Ridge a bye in game one of tournament play. Their opponent for game two is yet to be announced.
