After a 3-2 loss in the first game of this conference series, the Warriors recovered in the second game of the series to win 10-9 through a walk-off home run by senior Ryan Huesing in extra innings.

The third game of the series, a tie-breaker in a close race for the series, hinged on the pitching efforts of junior Trevor Kowalski in his first pitching start of the year.  Kowalski pitched a complete game allowing for minimal hits and only one run.  Kowalski’s pitching alongside a solid batting performance by the Warriors secured the win and the series.

The following day, Weddington secured another conference series win by defeating the Parkwood Rebels 7-0 in the last game of their three-game series.  The victory came Saturday night following an astounding no-hitter complete game by senior Cooper McKeehan in his third pitching appearance of the year.

This win puts Weddington at 4-4 on the season.  The Warriors will play at Charlotte Catholic Tuesday March 26 at 7:00 pm for the first game of another conference contest.

Sun Valley has a home non-conference game vs. rival school Porter Ridge on Wednesday, March 27 at 7:00 pm.  The Spartans begin the week at 3-6 on the season.
