The Spartan Men’s basketball team was relentless and aggressive from the start. Controlling the tempo of the game was a key part of this victory. J. Morton (0) a sophomore gave the Spartans two three pointers early in the first quarter and finished with 13 on the night. Four of those points coming from the free throw line. Parkwoods’ B. Batson(11) and X. Ivey(20) both contributed 8 points a piece in the first quarter. R. Howard (12) contributed 4 in the first and finished with 16.

The action in this game was end to end. Rebounding, and extra effort proved to be the determining factor. The Spartans played with a team cohesion that was impenetrable. Capitalizing on mistakes and simply outworking the rebels.
The talk of the evening was Sun Valley’s D.Shinhoster (20) a 6’3 junior. Shinhoster in true sniper style, laid low the first quarter an did not get onto the score card until the 2nd. He finished with 17 points. A big blocked shot by Shinhoster ignited his team and there was no looking back. C. Killings (3) a 6’1 junior gave the Spartans 13 points and helped seal the deal. Parkwood scoring was led by S. Mcgee(15) who finished with 14 alongside B. Batson. Final 83-70 Spartans.
