Cuthbertson Cavaliers

Football:



Davis Walker – The Cavaliers quarterback connected on 19-31 passes for 217 yards for an average of 11.4 yards per reception.  Walker also connected on one touchdown pass in the Cavaliers loss.  Senior Trevor Grant had 12 receptions for a total of 110 yards.  While teammate Chris Panko was credited with making 17 tackles.

Myles Wallace – The senior running back scampered for 111 yards on 23 carries for an average of 4.8 yards per carry while scoring two rushing touchdowns.  He also picked up 12 yards on 2 pass receptions, while contributing 106 yards on kick returns.  Wallace accumulated a total of 229 all purpose yards for the Cavaliers.

Marvin Ridge

Football: 

Caleb Woodley – The senior rumbled for 110 yards on 19 carries for 5.8 yards per carry and scored 3 touchdowns in the Marvin Ridge victory over A.L. Brown.

Soccer:

Matt Semcesen – The sophomore goalkeeper is gaining varsity game experience under a lot of pressure.  He has already earned a clean sheet in a 3-0 shutout win, was under the gun in a shootout with Independence who are an offensive scoring team holding the Patriots to only 3 goals, while frustrating South Mecklenburg in a recent 2-1 victory.  Senior Nick Jones has contributed 3 goals and 1 assist in the three games played during the young season.

Sun Valley Spartans

Football: 

Sam Howell – The highly ranked senior quarterback connected on 14-22 passes for a total of 237 passing yards.  Howell averaged 16.9 yards per pass reception, delivered on four  touchdown receptions with a quarterback ranking of 101.7 for the win against Anson.  Howell also had 13 carries for 159 yards rushing for a total of 396 yards all-purpose yards. He was named Offensive Player of the Game by the coaches.

Jack Wilton –  The senior defensive linebacker collected a total of 15 tackles.  Wilton had an impact delivering 9 solo tackles along with 6 assists in the Anson football game.  Wilton was selected Defensive Player of the Game.  Teammates Preston Doody contributed with 11 tackles and one sack and Cameron Maddox contributed 5 tackles including a fumble recovery for a touchdown.
