Cross Country:Â
Sarah Latour – In the girls competition of Friday Night Lights Meets she finished first in a recent meet with a time of 18:23.0 and teammate Madeline Hill finished second with a time of 18:31.2 for the Cavaliers.
Sun Valley SpartansÂ
Football:Â
Jack Wilton – The Spartans LB was recently nominated as Defensive Player of The Week. He accumulated 18 tackles with 13 solo tackles in the Porter Ridge game. Wilton is currently averaging 15.3 tackles per game. He continues to be the defensive leader for Sun Valley.
Weddington WarriorsÂ
Football:
Dante Casciola – The sophomore QB completed 12-21 passes for 173 yards including one touchdown to senior Chazon Jordan for 22 yards to pay dirt. He also rushed for one TD from 2 yards in the Warriors win over Crest.
Will Shipley – The running back had 13 carries for 73 yards and a TD, while catching three passes for 48 yards, and on defense he intercepted a pass in Crest territory to set-up another score for the Warriors.
James Shipley – The senior led the Warriors with four receptions for 65 yards, and senior teammate Wayne Dixie contributed 51 yards on 14 carriers, including the game clinching touchdown. Junior kicker Ian Williams connected on a 52 yard field goal that cleared the uprights with plenty of room to spare.
Soccer:Â
Noah Weisberg – The senior scored 2 goals against Sun Valley in the blowout win getting 4 points for his efforts. Colin Price contributed 1 goal and 1 assist for 3 points, sophomore Cooper Reinecke added 1 goal and 1 assist for 3 points in the match.
Volleyball:Â
Ana Gonzales – The senior handled 31 serve receive attempts with only 4 receiving errors. She also successfully 9 digs in the match against Marvin Ridge.
Miranda Powers – The junior had 15 assists and contributed 10 serve attempts with only 2 service errors for an 80.0% success rate.
Cross Country:
Kyle Durham –Â In the boys competition at Friday Night Lights the junior runner won the most recent meet with a time of 16:10.8.
Marvin Ridge Mavericks
Volleyball:Â
Paige Buttery – The Junior attacker had 10 kills with a 41.7% kill percentage. She had 24 attempts with only 3 errors and a hit percentage of .333 for the Lady Mavericks.
Chloe Barbu – The senior serve specialist had 29 serve attempts with only one serve error for a 96.6% serve percentage along with 2 aces.
