
Football teams across the Tri-W area began conference play this week with some of the most exciting games of the season, and Tri-W teams are dominating the SCC across multiple fall sports. Here are some of the important wins from this week.

Parkwood
The varsity football team at Parkwood is 4-1 on the season after winning their first conference game of the year 35-21, against Cuthbertson on Friday. The varsity tennis team won five sets to four against Piedmont on Thursday in a home conference match. The volleyball team earned a three-set win at Monroe on Tuesday. The soccer team is 7-2-1 after a 10-1 win at Piedmont on Wednesday.

Weddington
The varsity football team at Weddington is 5-0 on the season after a 47-0 win at home, in their first conference game of the year against Sun Valley. The Warriors are 13-2 in varsity tennis after a 6-3 win versus Marvin Ridge at home. Varsity volleyball holds a record of 11-4 after a 3-0 win at Parkwood on Thursday, and a 3-1 win at home against Cuthbertson earlier in the week.

Cuthbertson
Varsity soccer at Cuthbertson is 6-4-1 on the year after three shutout wins this week. The Cavaliers won 4-0 at home against Olympic High School on Thursday, and won 3-0 at home against Monroe on Wednesday. The Cavaliers started their week strong with a 6-0 win at home on Monday against Piedmont. The Cavaliers are 7-5 in varsity tennis after two conference wins this week. They defeated Monroe 9-0 in Thursday’s away match, and won 9-0 at Piedmont on Tuesday.
Sun Valley
The varsity volleyball team at Sun Valley is 11-1 after a 3-0 win at Piedmont on Tuesday. Two big wins this week have boosted the varsity tennis team’s record to 6-9. The Spartans won 9-0 against Monroe on Tuesday and defeated Union Academy 8-1 at home on Monday.

Marvin Ridge
Marvin Ridge football is 2-3 on the season after winning their opening conference game 45-7 at home against Piedmont on Friday. The Marvin Ridge varsity volleyball team is 17-2 on the year after defeating Mallard Creek, Monroe and Charlotte Catholic 3-0, in matches this week. They defeated West Iredell and Lake Norman 3-0 on Saturday. The varsity soccer team is 8-2-1 after a 3-2 win at home against Weddington on Wednesday.
