
Tri-W area baseball teams have had astounding seasons on many accounts this year. Their presence on this year’s All-UCHS Baseball teams speaks to their accomplishments, and the UCHS Baseball awards that they have earned continue to confirm their efforts.
Players from the Tri-W area that made the first and second All-UCHS Baseball teams include Cooper McKeehan of Weddington in the outfield. McKeehan is also the recipient of the uchsbaseball.com MVP award. McKeehan led the county in strikeouts with 102 under his belt for the season. McKeehan earned seven wins on the mound and maintained a 1.31 ERA for the year. He is the 2019 SCC player of the year, and earned a position on both the All-SCC and All-State teams.

Fellow Warriors Dusty Mercer and Brett Wiseman, both members of the All-SCC team, have also earned positions on the All-UCHS Baseball first team. Three Weddington players, Grayson Barger, Sam Kilinski, and Anthony Casciola have spots on the All-UCHS second team.
Kyle McKernan of Marvin Ridge pitched for 10 wins and 85 strikeouts to secure his place at the pitching position for the All-UCHS Baseball first team. He has received the uchsbaseball.com Cy Young award and holds the honor of SCC pitcher of the year. McKernan is also a member of the All-SCC team.

The Marvin Ridge Mavericks have placed six players in total on the All-UCHS Baseball first team, and two on the second team. First team Mavericks include Kyle McKernan, mentioned above, Matt Duggan, Steven Gonzalez, Henry Jackson, Tyler Hall, and Trey Putman. Mavericks on the second team are Andrew Kerry and Drew Cognac.

The impressive efforts of the Cuthbertson Cavaliers have earned several first and second team spots as well. Cavaliers on the All-UCHS Baseball first team are Trevor Grant, who earned the uchsbaseball.com Newcomer of the Year award, Wyatt Bradley, and Cade Kuehler, all members of the All-SCC team. Junior Cavalier Jackson Melton has earned a position on the All-UCHS second team, and he is also a member of the All-SCC team.

Jesse Harkey of the Parkwood Rebels has earned a place on the All-UCHS Baseball first team. Two Parkwood athletes, MJ Lucas and Carson Starnes, have earned positions on the All-UCHS Baseball second team.
