In a week full of contention in the Southern Carolina 3A Conference, Marvin Ridge sustains their first loss, Parkwood sweeps Charlotte Catholic and Weddington pitching shines.

Cuthbertson faced off with Marvin Ridge in a conference series that began with the Cavaliers delivering Marvin Ridge’s first loss of the season by a score of 4-2 on Tuesday.  The Cavaliers were unable to ride the impressive first-game momentum as they were defeated by the Mavericks in the next two games 2-0 on Wednesday and 6-3 in Friday’s series tie-breaker.  These two losses were Cuthbertson’s first conference losses of the year; they will begin the week 6-3 on the season.  Marvin Ridge maintains a record of 8-1 on the year.

The Weddington Warriors advance to 4-4 on the season with conference series wins against Parkwood and Sun Valley.  Sun Valley holds a record of 3-6 after a non-conference loss against Christ School of Arden, NC

Despite Saturday’s 7-0 loss against Weddington, Parkwood has brought their record into the positive with the week’s only conference series sweep against Charlotte Catholic with scores of 7-6, 5-3 and 8-7 in their three game series. Parkwood advances to 5-4 on the season.
