A season full of heated battles and thorny rivalries has come to an unexpected end. For the first time in 11 years, Marvin Ridge has failed to win the Southern Carolina 3A Conference title.

Despite a three-game sweep of Charlotte Catholic last week, the Mavericks 13-4 conference record (16-4 overall) fell short of a 12th year title that, at the beginning of the season, seemed inevitable.

The Mavericks play Charlotte Country Day in their first postseason appearance.

The Weddington Warriors, this year’s SCC champions, end the year with 14-6 overall record and a record of 14-4 in the conference. This championship title comes on the heel of a 5-1 victory over Cuthbertson last week in the tie-breaking game of their three game series. Weddington will play Lake Norman in their first postseason game.

The Cavaliers begin the week with a record of 13-6 on the year and 12-5 in the conference. They will play Parkwood and Porter Ridge to finish off the regular season.

Parkwood is 8-11 on the season and 7-10 in the conference after a victory last week 3-2 over south stanley. The Rebels finish out the regular season against Providence Day and the Charlotte Stampede.

Sun Valley begins their final week of the season with an overall record of 7-13 and 7-10 in the conference. They will wrap up their season with a non-conference matchup against Butler this week.
