Waxhaw Girl’s Softball is inviting players and volunteers to come out this week for their last chance to register for this year’s fall softball season. The final day for registration is Saturday, August 10. Players age 6-18 of all skill levels are encouraged to play. All athletes that try out will be given a place on one of Waxhaw’s teams.
Walk in registration will be held on August 7 at the Atrium Health Waxhaw meeting room at 2700 Providence Road South from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Uniform fitting will be offered on this date as well to ensure that players receive a proper fit and avoid uniform replacement fees later in the season.
Player’s divisions will be determined by the age of the player as of December 31, 2018. Placement assessments will be held August 11 at the Waxhaw Elementary School Softball Field. 8U assessments will be at 1 p.m., 10U at 2 p.m., 13U at 3 p.m. and 18U at 4 p.m.
Practice will begin the week of August 12. The first games of the regular season will be held September 7 with matchups decided by the Char-Meck Softball League. The regular season will consist of 10-12 games; an end of season, double elimination tournament will begin October 19.
The mission of the Waxhaw Girl’s Softball program is to teach players the great game of softball while having fun doing it.
